The eponymous artwork of the Dungscape project, this pair of framed oil paintings uses traditional techniques to capture a rewilded landscape. Set at Knepp wilding estate, the diurnal and nocturnal canvases stand as individual compositions, and connect visually into a single scene. The flora and fauna are the ecosystem around healthy dung… from the tiniest parasitoid wasp laying into a fly larva to the bat catching a dung beetle on the wing. There is a page of information here, and a YouTube playlist of process videos. Each painting is 120×90cm oil on canvas, with a discreet solid wood tray frame. These pieces are available for sale, although committed for exhibition in Knepp and London (Society of Wildlife Artists annual exhibition). Having been exhibited at this prestigious juried show will contribute to the provenance of the artwork. if purchased, they will be available for collection from London (The Mall Galleries) or Bristol (my studio) from mid October.
