The Avon Gorge, painted from life. Oil on stretched canvas. To me this captures the a gusty day, with the tidal river Avon’s characteristic silky warm brown colour. Although it was sunny, I had to have one hand on the easel to stop the large canvas blowing off the flyover into the water! If you look very closely you may be able to spot the controversial rainbow canopy, in the picturesque Georgian terrace in Clifton. Because the sides edges are mostly unpainted, it would look best in a tray frame.
