Purton Boat Graveyard (optional frame)

from £250.00
Sold Out

Oil on canvas board, painted on location. The foreground hulk is the remains of the Severn Collier, with a concrete and iron ship behind it. I used loose brush strokes and scratched into the paint to create the texture of the dry wood. The blue-green grass seemed to me to echo the waves of the sea. Scudding clouds and the Severn estuary in the background. For more information on the place, see Purton Hulks. Please note the photo of the unframed painting is more true to the colour of the actual oil painting.
