Concertina sketchbook

Over 2m long when extended. A collection of original drawings from museum collections in Bristol and London, including from microscopes and taxidermy. All these creatures are present in the diptych.

Linocuts

Hand printed limited edition artist prints, vignettes from within the diptych. One framed copy and a small edition of unframed prints available of each design.

Sketches

Final composition sketch before painting started (complimentary with the diptych above)

English Longhorn cows drawn from life at Knepp. Both images feature in the diptych.

Studies

My first observations of beetles, under the guidance of Rhian Rowson at Bristol museum. I grappled with their anatomy, practiced drawing through microscopes, and explored ways to describe iridescence.

Molluscs

These drawings explore the surface anatomy, texture and behaviour of molluscs in my garden. They address our social conditioning around the natural world. Having these selected by jury for exhibition at The Mall Galleries (London) initiated my links with The Society of Wildlife Artists.

SWLA generously sponsored the Dungscape project with The Natural Eye bursary award.
