In the press

Author Eugenia Anastassiou, who writes on working practices and environments, immediately recognised the significance of the situation being portrayed.

I was delighted to have the opportunity to show this work at Goodenough College, London for the International Women’s Day 2024 celebration exhibition, hosted by the Worshipful Company of World Traders

With artist Jane Masojada and the Lady Mayoress Elisabeth Mainelli

Podcast

I was honoured that “Industry” was a discussion point on this podcast by Everythingomni about the contemporary work environment:

Watch some clips from the painting process

At the end of the painting process, Angela and I recorded a video of a discussion about the portrait, a little collaborative painting (so Angela painted as well as modelled!), and jointly signed it:

I recorded much of the process and decision making of this painting, on a mix of Instagram and Youtube. This includes livestream deliberations about composition, and the first paint marks on the canvas. After that I generally posted progress videos, timelapses etc on Instagram. So the following videos are all the posts in chronological order, for the benefit of anyone wanting to see the work behind such an undertaking! This is slow TV! It includes live input from viewers of the livestreams, feedback from the wonderful Jenny Aitken, and a repair of a substantial canvas rip, right at the end of the process.
