I love including animals in my work. The first section is available work, and below that is a portfolio
Inspired by John Singer Sargent’s painting of octopi, this is from my ongoing series of seafood still lifes. Beautifully presented in a solid walnut wood frame. Including the frame, the work measures 30x41x2cm
Original drawing on heavyweight toned paper, a fictitious account of slug romance, heavily influenced by two particular garden visitors. The same size and media as the associated piece ‘HermAphrodites II’ (selected for the Society of Wildlife Artists Annual Open exhibition 2024), showing the incredible mating process of common garden snails. Professionally framed in a discrete co-ordinated wood frame, with non-reflective UV-protective Art Glass. It is uneconomical to transport this size framed, so please enquire about transport, collection, and/or a discount for buying as a pair.
Exhibited in The Mall Galleries in 2023, in the SWLA annual open exhibition, this original drawing has been professionally framed with a solid wood frame, mounted floating on board, and with non-reflective ‘art glass’.
This friendly camel is showing an interest!
Graphite pencil drawing on white paper. Wrapped in cellophane with mount card (hence glare)
There are plenty birds of prey around Prawle Point, and my guess is that this rabbit was accidentally dropped. Unblemished, but definitely an ex-rabbit, it appeared on the path while we were drawing. I couldn’t resist sketching it in situ, on Kraft paper (like brown parcel paper). Available ready to frame, A3 size.
Exhibited in The Mall Galleries in 2023, in the SWLA annual open exhibition, this original drawing has been professionally framed with a solid wood frame, mounted floating on board, and with non-reflective ‘art glass’. There is a similar larger drawing also available, unframed.
This linocut is hand printed as a limited edition of 33. Please note it is pure lamp black on pure white paper, my photography skills don’t stretch to this challenge! Because of the size I usually offer this unframed, but have one professionally framed copy available (for collection only because of the glazing).
This painting uses anthropomorphism - the squid is posed as if reaching towards the viewer/chef, the snails appear cheerful, whilst of course all this is simply projected emotion - the enemy of good listening! The heavyweight canvas on wood frame is painted around the edges too, so can be hung as it is, or can be framed in a tray frame.
Pen and ink, and coloured pencil on A4 tan paper. Framed in a solid wood white frame.
Price includes professionally made contemporary black wood frame, with the paper ‘floating’ between two sheets of glass. 24x31cm graphite and ink on grey paper

This commission celebrates Njord winning the Balmoral Handicap Stakes at Ascot, on QIPCO British Champions Series Day 2020. I worked together with the client from initial sketch through to final frame selection, to create a composition that sets Tom Marquand's red silks against rich green foliage. Njord looked particularly sleek and dark, as it rained shortly before the race. 24x20" oil painting.
Original drawing on heavyweight toned paper, showing the incredible mating process of common garden snails. I wanted to revel in the different colours and textures of the snails, shells, and the reflected sky in the slime. This is the same size and media as the associated piece ‘Bouquet’, a fictitious account of slug romance, heavily influenced by two particular garden visitors.
Individually, and as a pair, they make a strong statement, and a great conversation-starter!
Professionally framed in a discrete co-ordinated wood frame, with non-reflective UV-protective Art Glass.
