The bridge, “The Arches” is a landmark on Gloucester Road, a street well-known for independent shops, and always bustling… full of cafes, charity shops, artsy shops, toy shops, at least 3 post offices, and many niche businesses. I have been across this junction on train, foot, and car for 30+ years. It punctuates my life, and is a reference point close to our house that, whilst in many ways non-descript, and infamous as a pollution blackspot, almost every Bristolian knows.
