Van Eyck's Turban 22x25cm plus frame

This is a study to practice the traditional oil painting technique called glazing, which old masters used particularly successfully to depict bold coloured fabric. The reference painting was Van Eyck’s famous self portrait (I just abstracted the turban he wears in the original).

This oil painting is offset by a traditional solid wood ‘Ashmolean’ style frame.
